WHY STUDY IN SINGAPORE?

Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world. Everything is done in accordance with regulations.

It is a clean and beautiful country, as small as it may be.

Here are some of the best reasons to study in Singapore:

Required Documents For Visa:

All documents must be in English or have an English translation.

All documents submitted to Trent Global College are considered confidential and are protected under the PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) of Singapore.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT POLICIES

Procedure for applying:

1. All international students / agents email the applicant’s complete documents (mentioned above) to Trent Global College.

2. Trent Global College will assess the entry requirements and will recommend the course and if the student accepts the recommendation the college will issue an Offer Letter. This may be conditional based on visa approval for international student. (Please note that an Offer Letter does not constitute to admission into a program, but merely acknowledgement of eligibility to apply, admission occurs only once the student pass is approved and contract is issued)

3. Student / Agent acknowledges that they accept the offer, non-objection or non-response shall be considered an implied acceptance of the offer. Solar numbers or other personal data are not released to protect the personal data and visa of the applicant. If the applicant or their representatives do not accept the conditions, they may opt to object or halt the application at this stage. Upon accepting the offer they are authorizing the college to proceed with the application based on information provided by the applicant or their representatives.

4. The application shall be processed by the admissions department of Trent Global College. This process may take 1 to 2 weeks to submit to ICA. ICA takes an average of 2 to 4 weeks to process each application. Please note that with a high volume of applications the maximum processing time may reach from 6 to 8 weeks. Within this period of time there may be no updates until we receive results of application from ICA.

a. Probable results may be one off the following : APPROVED, REJECTED, REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION.
b. If the application is approved you will receive a NOTIFICATION OF APPROVAL with instructions on steps to take
c. If the application is rejected you will receive the REJECTION LETTER from ICA
d. If there is a Request for Clarification – please read and review the requested documents and provide us with whatever information you can. We will submit accordingly.
i. Probable results for this after another 2 to 4 weeks may be : APPROVED , REJECTED or WITHDRAWN

5. Once an application is approved a notification of approval is sent. We do not send screenshots of the application or edit the IPAs of students. This practice is not allowed by law. The official notification from the college shall be sufficient notice. Student may (and should) check with college to know if they are genuinely approved.

6. A reminder for Zoom Briefing prior to payment is sent to all approved applicants. After finishing the Zoom Briefing, the payment information will be sent to students via email to proceed with payment of fees.

7. Once payment is confirmed and the student enrolled into the Student Management System, a Student Contract will be generated and dated the same date as the payment.

8.Once signed Student Contract is received, the college may then process for student to arrive. We will purchase FPS for the student. Only then will the IPA be released. Please do not rush for IPA releasing as this is the last and final step before arrival in Singapore. IPA will always be released BEFORE the course commencement date. So do not worry!

9.Please comply with travel requirements by Singapore immigration, updates are available on www.ica.gov.sg

10. An arrival document (TRENT ARRIVAL DOCUMENT) is sent with the IPA with the complete instructions on what to do upon arrival and the necessary steps to be taken for arrival in Singapore.

SINGAPORE IMMIGRATION RISKS AND REFUND POLICY CLARIFICATIONS

Singapore Immigration Risks and Acknowledgement

As part of our standard admissions and pre-departure process, each applicant is thoroughly briefed on Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requirements, screening procedures, and the possibility of questioning at the point of entry.

Students are expressly informed and acknowledge that they are expected to be independently capable of clearly and confidently answering questions posed by ICA officers, including but not limited to:

  • Their purpose of study in Singapore
  • Details of their course and programme of study
  • Information about the school and academic arrangements
  • Their accommodation and living arrangements in Singapore
  • Their overall study plans and intentions

Students are further advised that if they do not feel adequately prepared, confident, or capable of passing these immigration screenings, or if they believe their English communication or comprehension may be insufficient, they should not proceed with payment or attempt to enter Singapore.

By choosing to proceed with payment and travel arrangements, the student confirms their readiness, accepts the inherent risks associated with ICA assessment, and acknowledges that any refusal of entry arising from such assessments is beyond the control of the school and does not constitute grounds for refund or liability on the part of Trent Global College.

No Refund Obligation Arising from ICA Refusal & Discretionary Goodwill Consideration

Where a refusal of entry by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) arises despite the College having duly conducted pre-departure briefings, provided accurate information, and fulfilled its obligations, Trent Global College shall bear no responsibility or liability for any refund resulting from such refusal.

Students acknowledge that ICA refusal of entry does not constitute a failure of service delivery by the College and does not entitle the student to a refund, particularly where the student has been clearly advised not to proceed with payment or travel if they are unprepared or lack confidence in passing immigration screening.

Notwithstanding the above, and strictly as a gesture of goodwill, Trent Global College may, at its sole discretion and on a case-by-case basis, consider processing a partial refund of up to fifty percent (50%) of fees paid, subject to:

  • The specific circumstances of the case
  • Costs already incurred by the College
  • Compliance with prevailing SSG / EduTrust regulations
  • Approval by College management

Such discretionary consideration shall not be construed as an obligation, entitlement, or precedent for future cases.

Clarification on Exclusions from the Refund Policy

This policy serves to formally clarify the College’s position regarding refund requests arising from homesickness, personal circumstances, or voluntary withdrawal, which are non-refundable situations under the Student Contract and prevailing SSG / EduTrust regulations.

1. Medical Fitness and Student Responsibility

All international students are required to undergo and pass a mandatory medical examination as part of the Student Pass application process. Once a student has successfully passed this medical assessment and has been issued a Student Pass or In-Principle Approval (IPA), the student is deemed medically fit to commence and continue studies in Singapore.

Subsequent claims of illness, stress, anxiety, or inability to cope, in the absence of a new and verifiable medical condition certified by a registered medical practitioner in Singapore, do not constitute grounds for refund.

2. Homesickness, Culture Shock & Personal Adjustment

The College acknowledges that studying overseas may involve emotional, cultural, and social adjustment. However, homesickness, culture shock, loneliness, or difficulty adapting to life in Singapore are considered personal circumstances and do not constitute a failure of service delivery by the College.

Accordingly, requests for refunds based on:

  • Homesickness
  • Emotional distress not supported by medical certification
  • Inability to adapt to a new culture or environment
  • Preference to return home
  • Family matters or personal reasons arising after course commencement

are not refundable circumstances.

3. Voluntary Withdrawal for Personal or Family Reasons

Where a student chooses to withdraw from the course voluntarily due to personal, family, financial, emotional, or other non-academic reasons, such withdrawal is deemed a student-initiated decision.

As clearly stated in the Student Contract, fees paid are not refundable for voluntary withdrawals that fall outside the explicitly stated refundable conditions.

4. Clarity on Refund Eligibility

Refunds are strictly limited to the refundable circumstances explicitly listed in the Student Contract and Refund Policy. Any circumstances not expressly stated as refundable are non-refundable, and students are advised that there is no need to submit repeated refund requests for non-refundable situations.

Submission of additional explanations, personal appeals, or repeated correspondence does not alter refund eligibility where the circumstances fall outside the agreed refund conditions.

5. Discretionary Consideration (Without Obligation)

Notwithstanding the above, the College may, at its sole and absolute discretion, consider exceptional cases on a goodwill basis. Such consideration, if any, does not constitute an entitlement, obligation, or precedent and shall be subject to internal review, costs incurred, and management approval.
